Each year, Project Alex recognizes students in the Medway school system with scholarships.
Students who are encouraged to apply are not necessarily the best students in the school or have the highest GPAs. Scholarships are given to individuals that had to fight or might have struggled to get good grades.
The middle school award is called The Joanne Senier-LaBarre Free Spirit Award. For the high school award, we look for students who academics do not come easily, but are still planning on going to college.
To apply for the awards, we ask for submissions of creative expressions on the topics of scholastics and/or safety. Winners, chosen for their originality and creativity, receive a $2,500 scholarship (for a graduating senior) and Nooks to our middle school winners.
